IMDA: TEKKA ONLINE MARKET

 

Despite being the most vulnerable to COVID-19, seniors continued to throng wet markets during Singapore’s circuit breaker period. 

To encourage them to stay home and shop online instead, the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) partnered live streaming veteran Max Kee of Lian Huat Seafood to digitise one of the oldest wet markets around, Tekka Market.

We built rudimentary payment gateways for easy adoption, ran real-time auctions on Facebook Live, worked with stall holders to package their goods, and partnered a logistics company to execute contactless delivery.

Side note: I also got to learn a lot of Singlish in the bargain. Steady.
